Ok,

As those of you who have read my previous post know, there was a 10 year old girl from our church who drowned on Mother's Day.

I keep thinking, how would that affect Superman? Especially if he was the one to find her body after three hours of being underwater? And what if Jason somehow knew her? Not school mate, but maybe same daycare, something after school. I've never taken piano lessons before, but I think it's a one on one type thing, but maybe something else? Art class after school somewhere else? I'm thinking daycare would be the most likely. Jason would know her and could be friends with her, but not real close y'know? More of a class room setting. Anyway, they both would be 10. How would this affect Jason?

How did Superman find out about the girl needing to be found? I thought maybe a parent from (I'm just going to go with daycare) the daycare center could have taken it upon herself to call and ask for prayers. (Some people -- like myself -- do this.) Maybe this parent and the parents of the child who drowned were at the river together. And after 911 was called, the other mother started to call around for prayers to anyone who she could think of.

So Lois gets the call from the other parent and Clark is there and goes to help look. Although, now that I think about it, it could be Perry calls his best reporter to get on the scene. And it's not until they get there that they even know who it is. Or maybe not until Superman pulls her body from the river that they realize they knew her.

I do want Lois and Clark to be married. What happened to Richard and where Richard is is up to you.

Lois and Anissa just wrote a fic in the Little Secrets Universe for me, so I feel greedy asking them to write this. LOL

But I would also love to see more than one fic written about this. Different authors have different ideas!

I would love see how this affects Superman and Jason both. For some reason I see Lois having to give Superman sleeping pills so that he can sleep after this. Is this because he feels that if he had been just a little quicker, he could have saved her so he's on patrol more? Or is it because he just can't sleep because of what happened? Or is he having nighmares (that it was Jason he pulled out of the river) and trying to avoid sleep and she slips the pills into his drink or something?

I figure that Jason would want to be at the wake/viewing and funeral. (I know my kids did.) So Lois and Clark would check him out of school for the funeral. The wake/viewing is usually the evening before the funeral.

Anyway, there you go, I hope some one can come up with a story for this.

Hello all,

I'm asking for prayers.  Around 6:30 pm on Mother's Day, a 10 year old wake board champion (Little Valarie Anne Hodges), the granddaughter of my pastors, went into the Amite River (right behind her house) to practice her wakeboarding.  While her father had his back turned putting a life jacket on her three year sister, Little Valarie stopped answering her father and when he turned around, she was gone.  They pulled her body out of the river three hours later close to 10 pm.  We burried her today.  While my whole church is affected by this tragic event, please keep the Hodges family in your prayers and please remember the children that Little Valarie touched.  Children at church, school, soccaar team, teens on a wakeboarding team, a family in China that she met while on a Mission Trip.  There were so many people there today.  And there were even some kids that had come as well.  I know I checked out my kids and they came with me, their choice.  I tried my best not to influence their decission.  But my son, who is ten and thinks that girls have cooties and doesn't have any friends who are girls, considered Little Valarie a friend.  My daughter also considered her a friend.  

Side Note:  She was called Little Valarie because she was named after her grandmother, Pastor Valarie Hodges.  Her middle name was her other grandmother's name.  Pastors Leland and Valarie and their son, his wife, her parents, and their brothers and sisters really need our prayers right now.

I'm in need of a lesson.  I think I have stated that I just started to volunteer at my local domestic violence shelter.  Well I was talking with the director today about the website.  She would love a picture in the format of my icon for this post.  One that the pictures change.  She would like it say "The Face Of Domestic Violence"  (of course it needs to be spelled right and I'm not sure if I spelled it right LOL) and the pictures would be of all the races, classes, ages, etc of the people of the world -- both female and male.  Could some one please give me  a lesson on how to do this.  I have Roxio Photo Suite 4.   But if there is a free program out there that will allow me to do this or if you know how to make a gif rotate pics like this, please let me know and teach me how to do this please.  I will also like to learn how to make a banner on a webpage change an example of this would be the Mary Kay webpage, www.marykay.com  This is juts some things that the director and I were talking about today.  I told her that I didn't know how, but I could learn.  I know so many people out there, I'm sure that someone can help me learn how to do this.

Well my head hurts worse than it did at my last update, but I did manage to get 1,449 words written today.  So that's a pluss.  I will catch up sometime soon -- I hope.

So the total so far is 1,765 words.

Going off to bed now.

Ok I didn't get this out yesterday, but I only got 330 words done yesterday. I usually write a lot faster than this. So far on Day 2 Zero words. I'm hoping that insperation will hit me and I'll be able to get going soon. Hopefully, it's just PMS that has me slow in starting this year. (And hopefully only two more days of that! Headaches, cramps, etc....)

UUUUUGGGGGG!!!!!!! Not in panic mode yet though.

I just found out that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  How did I find this out you ask.  Well, first I volunteer at my kids school.  I'm a comittee chairperson.  We have one car right now, so when hubby is at work, I ride my bikecycle to the school.  Last Thursday, I had a flat tire and called one of my committee members and let her know that I was running late because of a flat tire on my bike.  She offered to pick me up and mentioned something about having to do some other volunteer work for the people who run the local Battered Women's Shelter.  (Now, if she would have told me about this before Christmas last year, I would have said, "We have a Battered Women's Shelter?"  I didn't even know about it until my church held a Christmas Party for them this past Christmas Season.)  Anyway, back to my story, after we hung up I thought, Well, I have nothing else to do until 2:30, I could help her out if they want me to.  So when she picked me up, I told her that I could her out with the errands she had to do for the shelter.  She accepted my help and I jumped in with both feet, and now I'm a volunteer for the shelter.   Yesterday they had a Grand Opening for the new administrative offices for the shelter.  It was Monday night at the monthly volunteer meeting that I found out about October being DV Awareness Month! 

So anyway, this is my new volunteer project!  LOL  I will be training to be an advocate so that I can help these ladies and their children!  I'm so excited.  Yes, I'm still going to volunteer at the school, but I will be adding the DV shelter to my list of things to help out with as well.   I wish we lived in a world where these shelters were not needed, but the sad truth is that they are needed.  Please, check with your own local DV Shelter to see what you can do to help!

We got our power back about an hour and half ago.  We survived Hurricane Gustav ... Gustov... what ever....  we survived.  We have been out of power since lunch time on Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 and about 6 pm on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008!!!!  Just to let everyone know we are fine.  Just trying to get the house cooled down.  I never would have made it 150 years ago here in south Louisiana when they had no power therefore no A/C.  The no power I can deal with it's the no A/C I have a hard time with!  And to think that they wore a whole lot more clothes than we do now!  Man they had some tough people to survive in this heat with more clothes on and no way to cool down!!!!

This is a real life post.  I'm in the direct path of  Hurricane Gustov.  However, I'm far enough inland to where I don't have to worry about an evacution order.  At least not at this time.  With Hurricane Katrina, we had people coming to my city to evac.  So....  But anyway, if you don't hear from me in a few days, I've lost power and/or can't get a connection.  The only thing that I'm even mildly worried about is we have an old Oak tree in our yard.  A few months ago, it was struck by lightening and it's split down to the roots.  My hubby did get out there and cut all of the limbs that was facing in the direction of the house so it would fall toward the street if it fell.  I made the comment earilier that we should fine and the tree should fall on the house unless one half goes towards the street and the other half falls backward onto the house.  LOL  Now that I said it, I doubt it will happen.  LOL  But it has put that thought there.  We will get power outages and a lot of wind and rain, but other than that, we will be fine.  We might get drainage backup.  Our street floods in heavy rain, but so far just rain water has never gotten into the house.  This house has only flooded twice and that was when the river got up past 41.  At this time it's at 11 and we won't get that much rain.  LOL  But we do have sandbags because of the new drainage problem that we descovered when we got a lot rain a couple of weeks ago.  About a year or so ago, some of neighbors put in pipes and covered up the big cannal behind their house, (it's still open behind my house), and a couple weeks ago, instead of just deep water at the stop sign at the end of the street, my front yard ditch was over flowing and it was mid calf deep in the street.  (I'm 5 feet even and it was mid calf on me.)  So we got sandbags to be on the safe side.  I will update everyone as soon as I can.  They expect the Hurricane to hit Monday about lunch time or so.  And that's my birthday.  What a birthday it will be huh?

On the bright side, we might go to my mom's house about five miles away and stay with her through the storm.  Why go only five miles away?  She has cable internet and my lap top just occosaionally gets a wireless signal.  LOL

Hello all,

I'm in need of some help.  This year I'm helping with the Children's Church at church.  They are staring a new program this year and it's about a two year program.  It is a Studio (Acting) theme.  They are going to have several characters come and go through out the lesson, so that the adults don't miss all of the sermon.  Ok so we have two characters that are actresses and we will alternate Sundays.  I start the first Sunday.  But the thing is we have to name our characters.  I'm wanting to portray an airhead, self-centered, snobbish actress.  But I'm having trouble coming up with a name for her.  I thought that I would just name her like I do all my other characters.  I make up the personality and then I choose a name that means that personality.  However, I can't find a name that has the meaning of my character.  So... this is where the call for help comes in.  

The first name that came to mind was Buffy.  I know that Buffy wasn't really an airhead, and neither was she snobbish or self-centered (at least not in the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  But her name does sound like that kind of personality.  (Which is why Joss Wheadon picked it I think.)  But anyway, the people at the meeting for Children's Church tonight liked the name.  I told them I wasn't 100% sold on the name yet, that I would go home and try to come up with something else.

The Children's pastor suggested Buffy Buffont when I told him the name Buffy.

I was talking with a friend tonight and she suggested Dixie.  However when I hear the name Dixie, I think of Designing Women and think of the woman that owned the company that Designing Women was about.    ( I have no last name to go with Dixie, but I would need something that starts with D -- per request of Chilren's Pastor)


In my search for a name meaning airhead, I put in the word valley to see what names might mean valley.  (Valley short for Valley Girl because when I put in Valley Girl I got ziltch.)  And I got these neames:  Deena and Denna.   So I was thinking Deena Danes; Denna Downs

I'm still not sold on any of these names.  

Would my friend's list please help me out and send me some names that just scream "AIRHEAD" to you?  Or tell me if you like any of these names.

 With Arms Wide Open is a Buffy/Angel fanfic.  If I post it here, would you read it?  I want to know before I take time the time and effort to post it.  I get frustrated with LJ while reading fics because it shows the most recent posts first and that means that the chapters are backward and if you have to slit up the chapters the ending is before the beginning.  I have 7 chapters ready to post right now.  If I get just one person who would read it, I will post.  Just respond to this post and let me know.

I just think that most of my friends on LJ are Superman fans and I have no idea if any are Buffy/Angel fans.  And when I say Buffy/Angel I mean a Buffy with Angel romantically happy ending.

I recieved threee new betas and Chapter 6 of With Arms Wide Open A Buffy/Angel Saga should be up sometime this week.  However, I just recieved word from Tani, who had been writing the NC-17 scenes for me.  She has had a family emergancy and does not have the time to write the NC-17 scenes for me.  Is there anyone out there would be willing to do this for me?  I cannot write smut, no matter how hard I try.

 I know that most of my friends list is from the Superman Returns fandom, but maybe some one is also a fan of Buffy/Angel and can help me out.

They have had Chapter 6 since I posted Chapter 5 and I have not heard a word from them. (Well I have one and I will be keeping this beta.) And then to top it off when I sent out an email last night, one of them had a auto-responce saying that she was on vacation until the 14th of this month. No word to me that she was gpoing out of town. Granted she doesn't need my permission, but when I have been waiting on her to beta a chapter for me for 3 months it would be nice for her to email me and let me know that she is going on vacation and won't have computer access for a couple of weeks. I feel that I have been very understanding and patient with my betas. I have 216 pages, 86,138 wordds typed up and more in a notebook to type up. I have all of Book One, Most of Book 2 and Half of Book 3 typed up. The only reason only 5 chapters are posted is because my betas have only sent those chapters back to me.

What I need in a beta, some one who is good in English gammar, someone who can point out typos (Where periods should be commas, simple spelling mistakes that spell check won't catch: ex. to instead of two or too; or passed instead past etc.). Someone who can help me make sure that the characters are in character given the new universe that I have established. Someone who can help me come up with ideas for the story that I am having trouble with (Re-write of Season 3 mainly). And some one who can get a chapter back to me so that I can post either every week or every two weeks.

Talk about getting it done at the 11th hour!!! Man! I finally finished my 12 Days of Clois Around the World -- at 2 my time this morning. It's at the beta's now and if I don't have it back by 11pm U.S. Central Time, I will post it with the ending being unbetaed. As of right now it is 13,057 words; that's not including any quotes that I used or Author Notes.

Why, oh why, didn't I check the school calendar before accepting Friday, April 13 as my date for the 12 days of Clois challenge? The kids are out of school, fighting and yelling. For Buffy/Angel fans, With Arms Wide Open Chapter 4 is up at the website and at fanfiction.net.  However, the formating on the website is messed up and the graphic that I came up with for Chapter 4 is awful!!!  If someone wants to make me a new Chapter 4 graphic, please feel free and if I post it, I'll give you credit!   Chapter 5 will have two versions.  Yep that's right, there will be a NC-17 scene in Chapter 5 that Tani wrote.  I tried to wrtie it, and it didn't work out, but Tani did take what I had and used some of it.  Anyway, Chapter 5 is at the betas and I haven't heard back from any of them yet.  Hoefully, I will get it back soon.  Although I still have to format Chapter 4 for the message boards.

For Superman fans.  I have started on the 12 Days of Clois fic and I'm at 3,194 words not counting the disclaimers and A/N.  It's a movieverse future fic.  Jason is in High School and that's all I'm telling right now.  ;-)  I am used to working with more than one beta and I only have one beta right now.  If anyone else out there would like to help me out, please let me know!  Here is the pic of the destination :
